Formation and Registration
Ditsheng Savings and Credit Cooperative Society was registered with the Department for Co-operative Development in 2005 with the objective for members to regularly pool savings and subsequently obtain services like loans and funeral cover.
A task force was formed by the then Permanent Secretary to find ways of saving money in banks contributed by members of staff for welfare matters which included:
- Fruit basket
- Bereavement
- Wedding Celebrations
- Societal Responsibility contributions such as building houses for the underprivileged

Member Ownership and Control
Ditsheng SACCOs operate on a cooperative model, where members have a voice and ownership in the Society. Members actively participate in decision-making processes, elect the Management Board, and influence the direction and policies of the SACCOS. This sense of ownership fosters trust, accountability, and transparency.
